Another place that we had a fab family day out was Heads of Ayr farm park. This is located in Ayr on the West Coast of Scotland and again if you get good weather is a fantastic place to take the kids.
We went on Easter Monday so it was very busy but even still it is so well laid out that overcrowding never is a problem.
It is a farm park but is so much more. It has a number of different animals that the kids will love to see, horses, cows, monkeys, meerkats, goats and even a camel. You can buy food in the gift shop to feed the animal, definitely a kids favourite activity.
It also had about eight large trampolines for the kids to play on, two large inflatable pillows for them to bounce on and a few play areas, one in a sandpit which my two loved.
There are also indoor facilities, an indoor play area, soft play, coin operated diggers, petting area and farm machinery made into climbing frames.
There are a couple of eating areas but they also provide plenty of picnic benches if you want to take your own.
We had a great day out and will definitely be going back soon.
Do you remember the days when you could have a lie in, go out when you wanted, eat when and where you wanted and even go to the loo in peace? Yep, those days really did exist but the question is would you really ever want to go back to them?
I thought I had a full life until five and a half years ago when I had my son. Being a first time mum was scary, especially as I had never spent anytime with children. It was like applying for a job that you have absolutely no idea how to do and actually getting it , you muddle through blindly and surprisingly it all works out fine!!
The pressure to be the perfect mum is massive but is there really any such thing as the perfect mum or is it all about individual experiences? I believe that everybody's experience of parenthood is different, we are all, afterall, unique so therefore our experiences and perceptions must be unique.
This is my blog about my experiences of motherhood, the good and the bad, the funny and the sad and the mad moments that every mother has!
