I was a retail manager when I had my son and had every intention of returning to it after my mat leave but it is amazing how much a little person can change your perspective on life. I decided to find a way to work from home, childminding was something that I had considered previously but now I applied for my childminding registration. I also became a Bodyshop at Home consultant, as I had previously been a retail manager for The Bodyshop this seemed perfect.
I also spend a lot of time on the internet and inevitably searched the net for work at home opportunities. The online offers are endless but the majority of them are scams, they all offer the same thing, get rich quick!!
Beware of any scheme that asks you to pay a fee upfront, I have done this and have been well and truly burnt. My advice is if it looks to good to be true then that is exactly what it is.
There are ways of making money but you need to invest a lot of computer hours before you start to see any income, and not a huge one at that.
I have found that my childminding is my best way of making an income, it means I actually get to spend time with my kids and that way I don't miss a thing!
Do you remember the days when you could have a lie in, go out when you wanted, eat when and where you wanted and even go to the loo in peace? Yep, those days really did exist but the question is would you really ever want to go back to them?
I thought I had a full life until five and a half years ago when I had my son. Being a first time mum was scary, especially as I had never spent anytime with children. It was like applying for a job that you have absolutely no idea how to do and actually getting it , you muddle through blindly and surprisingly it all works out fine!!
The pressure to be the perfect mum is massive but is there really any such thing as the perfect mum or is it all about individual experiences? I believe that everybody's experience of parenthood is different, we are all, afterall, unique so therefore our experiences and perceptions must be unique.
This is my blog about my experiences of motherhood, the good and the bad, the funny and the sad and the mad moments that every mother has!
